February 20th 2012

Dear Members,

Exciting times ahead! Our Legislative Bill -
Senate Bill 1295 will be heard by the
State of Idaho Senate Health and Welfare Committee on Monday February 27th at
3.00 p.m. Our support “team” offering testimony will be representatives of Chapter
Officers, Government Relations Committee members, Educators, our Lobbyist and
of course our own Bill Sponsor, Senator James Hammond.

Our Bill Hearing opportunity brings together all of our past preparation work,
including hours of dedicated planning, phone calls, conference calls with National
AMTA GR staff, our Consultant, and Lobbyist to make our case for licensure of
Massage Therapy in Idaho.

A strong show of support is absolutely critical, and will help to dilute any potential
opposition. For the Bill to pass, the Senate Committee will need to be persuaded of
the necessity of enacting licensure for public protection. As Massage Therapists,
we are also consumers and need protection.

We all have busy work schedules and commitments, but please make the time to
join us if you can in Boise. We will not ask you to speak, but having you there is so
important - numbers speak volumes in this process. Being there to show support is
essential to our success - we need you in the seats!

Also, this is the time to contact your State Senator or Representative in support of
the Bill. By far the easiest and most efficient method is via email, but if telephone,
fax or snail-mail work; please use whichever method works best for you.

Simply go to
http://legislature.idaho.gov/about/contactbydistrict.cfm, select your
district by county, and you can email them directly from that page.  To find your
district, either see
http://legislature.idaho.gov/about/idmap2.pdf or enter your
address at
http://www.idahovotes.gov/YourPollingPlace/WhereDoIVote.aspx which
will give you your district and your polling place.

Please be sure to introduce yourself, your connection to the profession of
massage, what district you live in, etc.  It is always good to personalize the
correspondence.

Thank you for all of your ongoing support.

Sincerely,
Paul.
